ORTHOPEDICS

“We look beyond symptoms to uncover the root cause of your pain so you can move with confidence.”
— Dr. Kayla Culleny

ORTHOPEDICS

Orthopedic physical therapy focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing conditions that impact the muscles, joints, bones, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Whether you’re navigating a new injury, managing long-standing pain, recovering after surgery, or simply wanting to move better, our goal is to restore your strength, mobility, and confidence so you can get back to the activities and lifestyle you love.

Treatment often includes a combination of hands-on manual therapy, targeted strengthening, mobility and flexibility training, and movement retraining to restore healthy mechanics. When appropriate, techniques such as dry needling, joint mobilization and soft tissue work are used to accelerate healing and improve function.

Your care is highly individualized — we assess how your body moves, identify the root cause of your symptoms, and build a plan that supports safe, efficient recovery while helping you prevent future injuries. Whether your goals are returning to sport, keeping up with your kids, or simply feeling better in your day-to-day life, orthopedic PT provides the foundation to move well and thrive.

Common Questions

Do I need imaging before starting pT?

Not usually. Most orthopedic issues can be accurately evaluated through a detailed physical exam and movement assessment. Imaging is only recommended when necessary based on your symptoms or medical history.

How do you find the root cause of my pain?

By assessing not just the painful area but the entire movement system — strength, mobility, balance, and coordination. Often the “why” behind pain isn’t where the pain shows up.

What does orthopedic treatment include?

Treatment depends on your needs but may include:

  • Manual therapy

  • Soft tissue or joint mobilization

  • Dry needling

  • Strength training + mobility work

  • Movement retraining

  • Posture and ergonomic guidance

  • Education on habits and daily routines

  • Home program tailored to your goals

How long does it take to feel better?

Many people feel improvement within a few sessions, but long-lasting changes usually develop over several weeks to months. Consistency with sessions and home exercises gives the best outcomes.

Do you offer return to sport or fitness programming?

Yes. Redefine provides fitness-forward, performance-based progressions to help you safely return to running, lifting, fitness classes, or sport-specific demands.

Wellness Programs

Our wellness programs are designed for individuals who want to improve their overall health, mobility, and function—even if they’re not dealing with an injury or medical diagnosis. Whether your goal is to prevent future issues, optimize movement, manage stress, or simply feel better in your body, our one-on-one sessions are tailored to support your unique lifestyle. These programs go beyond traditional physical therapy and are perfect for those seeking proactive, empowering care in a supportive setting.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a targeted technique that uses thin, sterile needles to release trigger points, reduce muscle tension, and improve mobility. It can be an effective way to address pain, tightness, and movement limitations caused by overuse, stress, or injury. When combined with individualized exercise and manual therapy, dry needling helps reset muscle function, enhance recovery, and support your return to comfortable, efficient movement.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a hands-on approach used to assess, treat, and improve movement and function by targeting soft tissues and joints directly. Techniques may include mobilization, manipulation, and soft tissue work, all designed to reduce pain, improve mobility, and promote healing. By blending expert touch with clinical insight, manual therapy enhances your body’s natural recovery and supports your return to optimal movement and performance.
